Bioculture is the ultimate walking guide to explore the gems of central Italy’s Le Marche region.
Technology, contemporary art, and green lifestyle come together in an all-encompassing app.
Retrace the journey taken by six multimedia artists to discover Le Marche’s still unspoiled landscapes, traditions, organic food and wines.

BIOCULTURE FEATURES:
Discover a complete range of walking itineraries through Le Marche and explore them thanks to the built-in GPS tracker;
The maps are offline, so you won’t need an Internet connection to follow the itineraries;
Stop along the way to enjoy the natural, artistic and architectural attractions pointed out in the maps;
Plan overnight stays and meals at any of the agritourism accommodations and restaurants chosen for you, from a responsible tourism approach;
Discover the organic wineries that are members of the Terroir Marche consortium, learn about their sustainable winegrowing philosophy, and enjoy their organic wines;
Enjoy, both at home and on the road, the over 200 digital works of art that were inspired by the walk and made possible for Bioculture by a video artist, a soundscape artist, a storyteller, and an illustrator;
Get acquainted with the villages that became part of the journey through the collection of original and entertaining descriptions written expressly for Bioculture.

The app is subdivided into three sections: Art, Walks, and Wine

ART features the projects of the artists that took part in the Bioculture journey, with short biographical details for each artist and information on the artworks they produced following the experience. These include:
the audiobook "Fairytales for Wanderers" -collection of short stories and poems about Le Marche by British award-winning storyteller, Rachel Rose Reid;
the music LP “Beautiful Ground” by sound artist Alessio Ballerini, inspired by the sounds of the local countryside and villages, and the interviews conducted with local inhabitants along the journey;
the video-portraits of local communities filmed by Fabrizio Carotti with performer Simona Sala;
the digital illustrations and postcards by Giacomo Giacometti, drawing the region from an exotic and new perspective.

WALKS features a map-based system to navigate through the 19 legs of the Bioculture itinerary.
For each leg, all pertinent information is provided on the length (in miles and walking time), everything about the geographical area, the historical and archaeological background, tips on local art routes and landscape, as well as a detailed presentation of the 24 facilities, agritourism accommodations (farmhouses and restaurants), and wineries that are part of the project.
Use the dropdown menu to select or de-select the filters to apply, based on what you’d like to see on the map: digital artworks, agritourism facilities and wineries, natural/architectural points of interest.

Also, by clicking on one of the legs in the same menu, you’ll immediately be taken to that part of the itinerary you’ve chosen.

WINE takes you on a real-life virtual tour of seven organic wineries across Le Marche, and introduces you to their unique wines. This section gives detailed background information on the reality behind Terroir Marche, the leading consortium of organic winemakers, which acts to foster and safeguard organic and biodynamic winemaking in the region while promoting a sustainable economic model.

In offline mode, in the Home menu, under Le Marche, you’ll find descriptions of all the villages visited along the journey and of all the most important points of interest to be seen. You’ll also find information about agritourism accommodation and restaurants as well as about the organic wineries to visit en route.
